To Throw a Little Light on the Subject.

I decided my retro kitchen needed lighting. With so much out there now in pendant lighting, it was hard to choose, but it is a retro room after all, so a lot of these nifty shaped pendants are too modern, and I am stressing color after all….the post was titled “Color Cornucopia.”

That’s why these Fl/y Suspension Lights by Kartell will probably do the trick. With orange being the main accent color, we could do orange for the lighting, purple might work too or yellow….actually I found three different lights, which one would you pick? And then we will need the light switches to go with it, even the hardware on the cabinets…remember my cabinets are yellow…the walls could be chartreuse (after all, we are talking retro and color, so let’s go all the way!). But they could also be grass cloth and then we could do a rattan pendant light with birch hardware for the cabinets to put some warmth into the room.

Since the Smeg frig is striped with a brushed chrome handle and logo, we could always go with a silver metal pendant, the Snare Pendant Lamp from cb2 (brushed steel)…that would pull in the chrome from the high chair. But if I want to warm things up, I’d try the rattan Leran pendant from Ikea.
