Nicolas Ghesquiere, Balenciaga’s Creative Director, just may have created those style prompts that will set the stage for the future in fashion. There is so much to study here in his Spring/Summer 08 collection, it will be talked about well beyond SS08….

Perfection…in more ways than one. When I saw Jennifer Conelly wearing it, I immediately thought that going for a look is some sort of new uniform. Straight from the runway, is there anything more effortless and effective at the same time… Maybe Prada, who has a well known love of uniforms, had an interesting idea: it’s easy (maybe not financially, I add), and in a way truly helps you to silence the pressure of trying to be yourself.
Will see how this develops.
