My Green Post.

brons-poptop-purse002.JPG I promised to blog about green things today and this purse just said it all for me. My daughter’s birthday is coming up and this said “Buy me. It’s what all cool hip young ladies will be wanting for their dance parties.” And, I agreed.

If you haven’t guessed by now what it is…let me tell you: the purse is made from pop tops, with the edges worn off so they aren’t sharp. The sales associate had to tell me, I didn’t guess it…I just thought this is sooooo cool and different, what is it made of. Once I heard it was a recyclable product, the deal was done. For more information you can call Christoper’s, 127 E. Argonne, Kirkwood, MO (314) 909-0202, and please tell him I sent you.

The New Luxe…A Retro Chair Cane Pattern.

marcon-at-the-chelsea-football-club-in-londond_edited.jpg latticework-curtains.JPGThe new restaurant, Marco, in London’s Chelsea Football Club is sporting the same design on its floors and ceilings as I saw featured in a retro room setting in House and Garden’s October 2007 issue (above right) . Personally I could see this graphic all day long everywhere, it’s such a classic design. Originally used as a 50’s chair cane pattern, this retro graphic put in a black and white color palette and used on curtains or, as in the restaurant, Marco, on floor tiles, becomes luxe and modern.

P.S. Click on the left hand image of the Marco restaurant to see all the images from the New York Times Currents Slide Show in Sunday’s October 7th 2007 Style Magazine….it’s a treat.

Paris is Having a Fashion Moment, Balenciaga Style.

balenciaga.jpgNicolas Ghesquiere, Balenciaga’s Creative Director, just may have created those style prompts that will set the stage for the future in fashion. There is so much to study here in his Spring/Summer 08 collection, it will be talked about well beyond SS08….
