Animated t-shirt video takes the cake.

Well, Chic Looks and I agree, the “>t-shirt is the best form of expression and here comes one more for the books, an animated t shirt video, D.A.N.C.E. by Justice. This is too fun, and the t shirts themselves are reported to be selling out in a shop in Paris. If anyone has images of them, please send, I’ll post the link and/or the images.

This isn’t Your Mother’s Blog

How else to refer to the online world of blogging which has become a very sophisticated communication tool for not just serious hobbyists but also marketers or information managers or authors and speakers and journalists….to name just a few reasons why blogs exist. When I started posting seriously myself , some six months ago, there was some controversy about the validity of blogs especially from mainstream media execs; but from all the research I’ve done and time spent on others blogs as well as my own, to ignore the online world of blogging is to do so at your own risk. Even, and only just now, Ad Age Daily encouraged all marketing managers to immerse themselves in the online world. I think that’s funny. What they will discover is that it’s a very sophisticated tool that has nearly become mainstream–lots of professionals are way ahead of them… A shout-out to ChrisG.com for his blog, and especially on Flagship Content. And Glenn Wolsey for helping me set this blog up and his about blogging series, and Darren Rowse of ProBlogger who’s the granddaddy of them all I think. I recommend all three for their blogging prowess if you want to know and understand anything about creating a content rich blog (hopefully I am and have learned from them too!). Each of these bloggers also has a readership that is rich in resources so I highly recommend to all that they spend time at each site with regularity if anyone wants to understand the ins and outs of the blogosphere.

Like I said, this isn’t your Mother’s Blog!

Internet Progress Includes Couture Website

lwren-scott-lbd1.jpg Or is that an oxymoron? Couture and its relevance today has been a hot topic over at the NY Times blog, On the Runway. And in a beautiful synchronization of timing, Style Bubble notes a new internet website for couture, Couture Lab. Unfortunately I can’t make too many more comments on it than that because getting into the site is for members only and you have to qualify. One thing they ask you for is the name of your personal assistant in the application process…so they are looking for those who can afford what they will be offering. The debate centers around whether or not this will qualify as progress for couture. At the same time, another hot debate going on in the fashion world is whether or not new talented designers can get themselves started via the web and still maintain their credibility. Maybe Couture Lab is the answer for them.

The designers and artisans involved with Couture Lab are not necessarily the “named” ones such as Karl Lagerfield for Chanel or John Galliano for Dior. The image above references exmodel turned designer L’Wren Scott who has given Couture Lab an exclusive to her “Little Black Dress” collection. Susie Bubble of Style Bubble shows even more images and has a little more to tell about the website. If anyone here knows more about it please let us hear what you know or even think about it.

Sneak Preview of the Design Studio of the Future

office-of-the-future.pngHow Magazine offers us a glimpse into the future of our design spaces–the layouts, how we will work and how we will be interacting with clients, hypothetically that is for the year 2025. Download the article now from their current newsstand August issue, the Future of Design.

Want a hint? Plug n Play not only applies to software, but also to the office of the future with workstations being more common as telecommuters, consultants, and anyone else pops in then leaves and lets the space be available for the next person; the pluses…everything will be adjustable so each individual can work in comfort…the minuses? You’ll just have to have the pix of the fam on your mobile whatevers to show co-workers and colleagues instead of in a frame (which is so yesterday in the year 2025).

I gotta tell you, I’ve been doing that already, sort of, by going into Kinko’s workstations, airport workstations, etc., but I admit, in offices they don’t usually accommodate the on-the-fly worker…so hopefully it’s a little more friendly than the offsite ones…more like Starbucks maybe? Well, at least offer me a Starbucks (that’s my $4.02 worth tip toward the design space of the future).

Not Since Mummenschanz: Room

room.jpg by The Rinpa Eshidan. “Rinpa” is a word created by the founders of the group meaning “to bring people together, while “Eshidan” essentially means “art crew.” They have several videos of them recording the act of creating art, which they consider to be the creation itself and the videos are meant to engage the audience in the process.

To that end, they have succeeded. I heart the Rinpa Eshidan.
